Perfectly cooked pasta should be soft on the outside, but slightly springy in the middle. That’s exactly what the Italian term “al dente” means.
Ingredients
- pasta
- water
- salt
Preparation
- Bring a large amount of water to a boil.
- Add salt — the water should be lightly salted.
- Add the pasta to the boiling water.
- Cook according to the time on the packaging, preferably shortening it by about 1–2 minutes.
- Drain and immediately combine with the sauce.
Bakeidoo Tips
- Don’t add oil to the water — the sauce will then cling to the pasta worse.
- Keep a little cooking water from the pasta — it’s great for thickening the sauce.
- Finish cooking the pasta preferably already in the sauce.
Goes well with
Tomato sauces, carbonara, pesto, one-pot dishes.
